Ohio’s Jordan continues service as a director for GCSAA

Mark Jordan, the natural resources leader at Westfield Group Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio, will serve the second year of a two-year term on the board of directors for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) in 2016. Jordan was first appointed to the nine-member board in 2014 and elected at the 2015 annual meeting.

Jordan, a certified golf course superintendent, assumed his current position at Westfield Group Country Club in 2007 but has been with the club since 1988, serving as general manager, club manager, superintendent and assistant superintendent. He previously served as assistant superintendent at Winding Hollow Golf Club in New Albany, Ohio, and Hyde Park Golf and Country Club in Cincinnati.

A 29-year member of GCSAA, Jordan is a past president of both the Northern Ohio GCSA and the Ohio Turf Foundation. He is also a board member for Play Golf Ohio and Ohio Pesticide Applicators for Responsible Regulation (OPARR).

A native of Nova, Ohio, Jordan graduated from the Ohio State University – ATI in Wooster, Ohio, with an associate’s of applied science degree in turfgrass management, and from the Ohio State University in Columbus with a bachelor of science degree in agronomy.

Jordan,  his wife, Melinda, and their four children, Nate, Alaina, Janelle and Mckenna, reside in Westfield Center, Ohio.
